[ Design in Stockholm ]
So for part 3 i am writing about design in Stockholm, well to search for it is a big word, it’s everywhere around you. Pattern design, graphic design, product design & food design, is just a short list of things to look out for in this city. On the road, we also spotted some great vintage stores for clothing and furniture, a few i would recommend visiting: Herr judit stores, Dusty Deco & Judiths second hand.
But in this post i want to focus on 2 places specific, the Talent Gallery & 10-Grupppen.
The Talent Gallery is a Gallery focussed on Graphic Design, well one word inspirational! As a Graphic Designer of course i would feel our profession needs a gallery and so you can find it in Stockholm. They sell work of a variety of graphic designers and every month there is a new exhibition. Apart from the talented graphic designers, they also sell a wide range of unique postcards, notebooks & my favourite [lite2]RECIPE CARDS[/lite2], Jippie. There isn’t a more exciting feel to write down a recipe by hand on these beautiful designed cards. If you’re in or going to Stockholm put this gallery on your list to visit.
Then going to 10-Gruppen, they are 10 swedish designers who love to design patterns and do so since 1970. The reason they started the company was because they grew tired of hearing that their patterns would never sell. Well 40 years later they are still designing, selling & are a well know brand in Sweden. If you love fabrics, bags or any other object with patterns, do take a look in this fantastic store. We bought some canvas with an amazing yellow pattern, which we will divide in 4 pieces & use it as our brand new coasters for our dinner table.
